The classic 'give $20, get $20' model assumes your customers are motivated by cash. For experience-based businesses, that assumption is often wrong.

Reward the Experience, Not the Transaction

Divers don't want a discount on their next trip. They want a private guide, a photography session, or an exclusive site access. The perceived value of experiential rewards far exceeds their cost.

Timing matters too. The referral ask should come 48 hours post-trip, when dopamine levels are highest and memory is most vivid.
